Needles
Needle refers to a small, slender piece of steel with a hole for thread and a point for stitching fabric. A machine needle differs from a handwork needle; the machine needle's eye is found at its pointed end. Machine embroidery needles come with sharp points for piercing heavy, tightly woven fabrics; ball points, which glide between the fibers of knits; and a variety of specialty points, such as wedge points, which are used for leather. In contrast beading needles are very thin and their eyes are the same width as the rest of the needle. This provides with an added advantage of no added metal width to get in the way as it pass through seed and other small-holed beads. These needles also come in a twin-pointed version that are used for bead embroidery and a glover's version which have a triangle tip used for leather bead embroidery. Big Eye needles are extremely easy to thread. They feature two sharp ends with tension wires down the middle that can be split; simply open the wires and pass the thread through. Twisted beading needles are primarily used for stringing beads because they don't have a sharp point and their wide eyes are easy to thread.

Threads
Threads refer to fine cord of natural or synthetic material with two or more elements twisted together and used for stitching, threading and sewing etc. Threads come in rayon, cotton, polyester, metallics and acrylic. There are huge variety of threads available for specifically threading different type of beads like silk, nymo nylon beading thread, kevlar and silk bonded nylon thread, etc.

When it comes to finding the most traditional thread for stringing pearls silk is the most appropriate answer. Silk is available in widest range of sizes, as well as the largest variety of colors. Silk often comes on cards that include a needle already attached to the thread. You can use any of the other needles, but, as with Nymo, be sure your needle isn't wearing out the thread because the ends fray so easily. Silk is sometimes difficult to thread onto a beading needle, so a big eye needle is also used.

When it comes to finding the most popular thread for stringing pearls nymo nylon beading thread is the most appropriate answer. Nymo nylon beading thread has become the most popular choice for working with seed beads. It provides with the benefits of being lightweight and availability in variety of thicknesses and colors.

Kevlar is also used widely for threading the beads. Kevlar is a very strong synthetic material. So strong, in fact, it's used to make bulletproof vests. This characteristics of kevlar has helped it gain so vast popularity. This thread works best for stringing and you can use any type of needle to work with it. When securing Kevlar, use a fisherman's knot to ensure its continued strength. Kevlar is naturally yellow, but can be dyed in any color using fabric dyes.

Silkon Bonded Nylon Thread is a synthetic material that looks and drapes like silk, but resists fraying and has incredible strength. It is available in various weights as well as variety of colors. It is because of its strength and durability that silkon is primarily used for stringing beads. You can use any type of needle listed with this type of thread, but, depending on the weight you use, it may be easiest to use a Big Eye needle.

Cord
Cords are widely used for threading beads. There is huge variety of cords available for threading purposes. Some of these cords are mentioned below

Elastic cords as suggested by there name provides with the feature of elasticity. Therefore elastic cord is great for slip-on jewelry like bracelets, watch bands or for children's necklaces. Elastic cord can be knotted and used with beads with larger than 1mm diameter holes.

Super Strenght "Parachute" Necklace Cord provides with the benefit of strenght, as it is made from super hi-tech spectra fibers. It is naturally waterproof and resists to sun’s damaging ultraviolet radiation. It also has a tensile strength 10 times stronger than steel, with superior abrasion resistance.

C-Thru cord is a woven clear nylon cord like fishing line. It's widely used for clear beads, such as Austrian crystal, where you want little or no cord color to show through. It can also be used in place of nylon cord. It knots well and can be used with bead tips as well.

Stretch Floss Cord retains its shape memory longer than other elastic beading cords. It takes and holds knots well.

Invisible Beading Cord is clear and nearly undetectable to the naked eye. It is used widely for illusion-style necklaces.

Satin Cord is woven from manmade fibers in three sizes: 2mm (rattail), 1.5mm (mousetail) and 1.0mm (bugtail). Colorfast satin cord available only in limited colors and weights.

Macrame Beading Cord is available in a variety of colors. It provides wit he benefits of being resists fraying, threads smoothly and holds knots with ease, but is not colorfast.

Hemp Beading Cord is available in a variety of weights and package sizes. It provides with the benefits of being extremely uniform, fray resistant, knots easily and maintains shape well under normal wear.

Crinkled Silk Cord contains no dye allergens. Silk takes and holds knots well. Crinkled silk cord is colorfast.

Natural Cotton Waxed Cord provides with the benefit of being tightly woven and waxed for ease of beading. Cotton cord takes and holds knots well and is colorfast.

Genuine leather is used for suede Lace Leather Cord and it is permanently dyed so it is colorfast.

Imitation Leather Cord is a woven round cord. it is stronger and more uniform than animal leather. Made of biodegradable cotton. Takes and holds knots well and this cord is not colorfast.

Imitation Sinew is spun from a continuous filament of polypropylene fiber for 60-lb. breaking strength. It is waxed and easy to split.

Imitation Silk Cord is woven from a cotton/polyester blend and is not colorfast.

Wire
Wires are widely used for threading beads. There is huge variety of wires available for threading purposes. Some of these wires are mentioned below

Super-Thin Beading Wire is 34-gauge wire for beading projects which comes in gold and silver color. It is Used for forming shapes, weaving around findings or making dream catchers. This wire canl accommodate almost any drill hole Because the minimum width of the thread. As it is very thin and does not have much tensile strength therefore it should be used for lightweight beads only.

Memory Wire is rigid and pre-coiled wire which makes simple and stylish finger and toe rings, bracelets and necklaces. This genuine stainless steel wire provides with the benefit of not getting rust that easily. Easy to use: just make a loop on one side, string on beads and finish with a loop or a 1/2-drilled bead. It can be used in single loops or multi-loop combinations.

Beading Wire refers to a twisted stainless steel wire with a plastic coating. Accu-Flex wire is an excellent choice for abrasive beads and gives an appealing drape to lightweight beads such as gemstone heishe, liquid gold or liquid silver and bugle or seed beads. It is also available in thicker weights to accommodate larger, heavier bead strands.

Colourcraft Wire refers to the color-coated copper-based crafting wire. It is soft and extremely malleable and retains shape moderately well.

Precious Metal Wire is used for wire-wrapping, chain-making and other jewelry construction. It is available in various metal forms like gold-filled and sterling silver and in three shapes like round, half-round and square. It comes in three hardnesses dead soft, half-hard and full hard.

Dead Soft Wire possesses the characteristics of being very malleable and can be bent easily into a myriad of shapes. It does not hold its shape in stress situations, such as clasps, etc.

Half Hard Wire is also malleable it maintains an intricate shape under moderate stress. It is very useful for weight-bearing parts of wire-wrapped jewelry.

Full Hard Wire holds its shape for wire-wrapping jewelry. Its tempered nature provides with the benefits like holding intricate designs well and excellent for clasps.
